public message to Hans Eijkelboom

Dear Hans
it's always a rich experience to visite your expositions. I enjoy to walk arround with the imagination to be in the three cities (Paris—New York—Shanghai) at the same time. You are as like me a streetwalker, looking arround and get the flavor of the public life. Your presentations lead us, the public, to focus on the individuals, which we meet in your fotos. Through the combination of many similar attitudes of this people the focus is getting sence: The freedom of choise is depended on the offered opportunities.

You handle a really strong strategy: On some panels the similar attitude is very clear. On others the spectator has to find out, what they are. (In the added city views I tried to find this, but couldn't.) In this recent project Paris-New York-Shanghai, it's getting a metha level: What is the difference between this three locations and what is similar? I'm very happy that you show that Paris is as multicultural than NYC. In China, I saw also very different asian people. Only the concept of the three centuries hasn't got clear for me. I like the project Komar &Melamid: Painting bij Numbers, who polled "people's art" in many different countries. Why don't you integrate the other continents (Africa, Australia and South America) with a Main city?

It's a strange thing that you meet Gabriele Conrath-Scholl after so many years. Sometimes a germ needs really a long time to devellop a fruit. I really hope that she can help you to get more wellknow in Germany.
